Salisbury travel to West Sussex this Saturday to face Worthing, who currently sit in fourth place in the Vanarama National League South.

The last time the two clubs met, Worthing ran out comfortable winners, winning two-nil at the Ray Mac. A first-half goal from Cashman was added to in the second half by Smith in what Worthing manager Chris Agutter described as one of their best performances of the season.

Worthing had been on a fantastic run of form, having not lost in the league since late November, with notable wins away at Dorking Wanderers and Maidstone United.

However, that run ended on Saturday when they fell to a four-nil defeat away at Slough Town. Worthing were three down at halftime, with goals from John Gilbert, Scott Davies, and Salvi Spasov. Sapsov scored again in the second half to wrap things up for Slough.

Chris Agutter said his side had a ‘rough day at the office’.

Despite the defeat, only Dorking have picked up more points over the last six league games and will still have their eyes on Dorking, who they trail by 6 points but have three games in hand over Marc White’s team.

Salisbury come into the game after rescuing a point deep into injury time away at Chesham United on Tuesday evening. Josh Hedges’ goal in the 5th minute of added time secured a vital point for Brian Dutton’s side.

The White’s have become a hard side to beat, only losing two of the last 10, but they have also only won two of those games with six draws in that run.

Salisbury currently sit five points above the relegation zone with 14 games remaining in the season.

One player confirmed to be at the Ray Mac until the end of the season is Rhys Byrne. The young Leyton Orient ‘keeper has impressed since his arrival and has had his loan extended to the end of the season.
