Salisbury will travel to Devon on Tuesday (11th March) evening to face Torquay United in the Vanarama National League South.
Torquay are currently in sixth place in the table in their first season after being brought out of administration by the Bryn Consortium.
Paul Wotton has built a squad from scratch, and the Gulls are looking for promotion back to the national league after administration and a points deduction last season.
The two sides have already met once this season. In November, Cody Cooke scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 85th minute.
Torquay come into the game in good form, having won their last two matches and lost just one match in their last six.
The latter of those two wins came away at Tonbrige Angels. Jordan Young scored the game’s only goal late in the first half at Longmead Stadium.
Paul Wotton said he had to remind his side that they still have something to play for at half time:
He said the game against Salisbury is big and that Brian Dutton’s side is a tricky team to play against.
On the other hand, Salisbury is battling for survival in its first season in the Vanarama National League South. With survival the number one goal set out at the start of the season, the Whites are currently on track to do that.
The side is struggling for form at the moment, with no wins in the last seven matches. Draws away at Chesham and Aveley are the only points collected since the away win at Weston-super-Mare.
On Saturday, Salisbury lost at home to Enfield Town by a single goal after the visitors had led by two goals to nil. The Whites rallied late on, but despite Josh Hedges’s late goal, they could not get anything from the game.
Brian Dutton said after the game that his side were in a poor run of form with not much going for his side at the moment:
Supporters not travelling to the game are able to listen to full match commentary with Ian Pearson and Andy Munns on Salisbury Radio Sport.
