Salisbury FC are delighted to announce the signing of Tom Davies on a free transfer, after Tranmere Rovers released him at the end of last season.
Davies, 33, arrives at the Ray Mac with considerable experience, having spent most of his career in the English Football League.
The defender has had spells at Portsmouth, Coventry City, Bristol Rovers, and, most recently, Tranmere Rovers, accumulating over 250 appearances in League One and League Two.
During his early football years, Davies spent time in the Manchester United youth system after joining at the age of eight, before moving on to Blackburn Rovers, but was released at the age of 16.
He rebuilt his career with spells at FC United of Manchester before signing for League One side Fleetwood Town, where he spent time on loan at FC United, as well as at Alfreton Town, Lincoln City, and Southport. Davies then joined Accrington Stanley in League Two before moving on to Pompey.

He has twice been promoted from League Two, achieving promotion with both Portsmouth and Coventry City. Davies then joined Bristol Rovers in League One, before a loan spell a division lower at Barrow.
Moving to Tranmere in 2021, he went on to make 88 appearances for the League Two side.
Manager Brian Dutton was delighted to bring in such an experienced defender. He said, “This is another marquee signing, which is a real coup for the football club.
“Tom will provide outstanding leadership qualities alongside his footballing ability.
“I came across Tom whilst he was at Bristol Rovers and have followed his career since. He impressed me with his ability to read the game and position himself accordingly.
“Similarly to Matty Taylor being able to help the younger players in the squad, Tom’s experience and footballing qualities will no doubt rub off on our young defensive players.
“Thank you to Ali for supporting the Club with this signing, rest assured, supporters, Tom will be the second best centre back to ever grace the Ray Mac ;-).”
