Salisbury are back in action tomorrow (11th February) evening with a trip to Weston-super-Mare, who sit just outside of the play off places.
Scott Bartlett’s side have found their way again after a trick run of games at the end of 2024 and the start of this year that saw them drop away from the top of the table to their current position in eighth.
Weston have won three, drawn one and lost one in their last five games, picking up ten points in the process. In contrast to that, their previous five games had seen them only pick up two points with two draws and three defeats during that period.
On Saturday, they put a dent in Boreham Wood’s push to win the league. Ollie Chamberlin’s first half goal was enough to give The Seagulls all three points. It was a goal, where Boreham’s ‘keeper could and should have done better with, as it trickled through his legs.
Salisbury came into the game after their unbeaten run was brought to an end by table-topping Dorking Wanderers. Two first-half goals from Alfie Rutherford did the damage in a game where Salisbury rarely threatened the Dorking goal.
The unbeaten run in the league had stretched back to December and included five draws and two wins, meaning over the last ten games, both Salisbury and Weston have picked up the same number of points, each picking up 12 points.
When the sides met earlier this season, it was The Seagulls who took bragging rights, a James Hillson own goal and a second added by Kieran Thomas. The game wasn’t without controversy though, as Ruben Reid was in an offside position when challenging Hillson for the opening goal.
