Salisbury return to the Ray Mac to play Hornchurch following the thrilling 4-3 win away at St Albans.

Two league wins on the bounce, with the previous one coming at home against Chippenham, has seen Salisbury lift themselves to 13th in the Vanarama National League South.

Goals from Josh Hedges, Aidan Elliott-Wheeler, Josh Sommerton and the returning Noah Coppin in the first hour were enough as the Saints fought back in the final 30 minutes to jangle the Whites’ nerves.

It was Salisbury’s first win on the road in the league since promotion, and Brian Dutton was quick to praise the returning Ryan Penny after a combative performance from the midfielder. “I thought he was phenomenal, I think you saw what he brings to the team. That calmness, that assuredness. We’ve been missing him.”

Dutton, for the first time this season, has a full squad to select from following a run of bad luck with injuries.

Hornchurch, who went into last week’s fixtures with a nearly identical record to Salisbury, lost away at Dorking Wanderers, their second league defeat in a row.

Dorking lead 2-1 at half time thanks to Rutherford and Porter with Hornchurch replying late on in the half through Feme Akinwande. A goal from Prior ten minutes into the second half put the game out of reach for Hornchurch, with the game finishing 3-1.

In their previous game, The Urchins lost 2-0 at home to Chelmsford.

One to Watch:

Liam Nash is once again among the goals; he has scored five goals already this season. He has scored 20+ goals in each of the last three seasons at The Urchins.
